The traffic that comes from relevant forums is decent enough. Posting regularly on dofollow forums not only increases your backlinks but also gets you traffic.

We had a signature policy in place to curb people with less than 5 posts from using signature links.

Recently our forum has seen an increasing number of new registrations and we planned to remove the signature policy.

From now onwards everyone can use the signature option, this applies to the new users aswell.

Regularly posting on dofollow forums gets you a decent traffic. Also you will have more backlinks. Better few posts to more forums, than more posts in few forums. The best is to post a lot in a lot of forums.

Also forums have signature feature which is widely used and helps more.

Making posts in relevant forums is a good way of promoting a site, do follow forums is additional benefit of backlink, but forums either nofollow or dofollow is good for human traffic if you contribute wisely.
With good post targeted forum members will often click through to check out who this poster is or what he stands behind. There is usually a great traffic when i leave informative posts in a relevant forum thread. The key is to be relevant and leave good advice and traffic will come through from your forum signature do follow or not.

Over time the cumalative efforts of posting in forums and blogs has given me some fairly stable traffic in the last 6 months. But it is really nothing that has taken my business to the next Level. Its really the indirect traffic you get from Do Follow Forums that makes the difference. That is the Organic Traffic built up from gaining enough backlinks.

BTW, I think it is important if you are going to take advantage of do follow forums with commenting, then your coments should be of substance and add to the community as a whole !! PERIOD !!
