It’s no secret that having links pointing to your website is very good for search engine rankings, and gives more ways for human visitors to find your website. I Prefer social bookmarking, forums and Blog commenting for getting back-links. Link wheel is also a good way to rank higher in SERP but its a bit time taking technique.

- Listing in niche directories
- Submitting your RSS feeds to feed directories
- Submitting your website to social bookmarking sites
- Participating in social networking sites and related communities
- Writing guest posts for related blogs to your niche.
- Writing emails to other bloggers/ website owners in your niche offering them to guest post
- Writing content that is deliberately designed to attract links towards it.
So long as it is done all organically, it should help.

For me creating backlinks is the main concern because only like this I got a high PR.
