If you link is approved in any directory, blog or forum you can promote that url on social network site. Very valuable.

signature works alot in linkbuilding.....forum commenting and blog commenting on do follow blogs both helps as equal...the thing is to bring diversity in your work...directories, guest blogging are the good option too.

Both forum and blog commenting are most useful techniques in link building. keyword with your anchor text is the main aspect of link building, By doing this you can improve your keyword ranking in SERP's.

yes signature is very good way to create backlinks.
But it is better the forums have high page rank.

Depending on the forum set-up, users can be anonymous or have to register with the forum and then subsequently log in in order to post messages. Usually you do not have to log in to read existing messages.
