I dont believe on just blog comments and forums. Always get backlinks from those websites who fast crawling rate and also relevancy, quality, PR matters.

I usually use comments to express my view as well as to spread out my links. Its too helpful way i found on internet. Really its results are long lasting and amazing

I think we should no waste time to think on it.because we all know both are very helpful method to get quality backlinks.So we should use both of them.
