Forum link building is also helpful in in doing link building but there are something that you have to follow the main thing is you have to contribute to the forum, try to post on high traffic forums and relevant forums, would give you good benefit.

Forum participation is an excellent method of link building. The signature in the forum will add more value. Regular participation is essential and participating in forums with high traffic is better.

Forum link building is a good technique but only for a complex stratedy, if you want to earn Google's love with it's help - you'' have to wait for results for a few infinities.
