It is better to do 20 to 30 social bookmarking submissions per day and in case of directory submission, can submit upto 50. Also submit under do follow social bookmarking sites. Do follow social bookmarking sites will greatly improve the number of links to your site, which in turn will positively impact your rankings and traffic.

I would agree with the above, the most important thing to remember when link building is to keep it looking natural. 20 links per day is good for one URL.

It should be not more than 20-50 for a day because if you cross the limits, search engine will mark it spam.
