Blog commenting, as previously said, would be best.. For .edu links, you can try to search for such here using a particular keyword.. "seopositions.net/edu-blog-finder.html".. Hope this helps.. Quite useful to me..

I think analyze your competitors and find where they go for such links would be an effective and faster way. IMO.
