NoFollow and Keywords

My buddy tells me that nofollow still has value because it helps establish the keywords you want google to search your site on. For example if my anchor text in my link is "widget" even though it is nofollow and gives me no PR increase, google recognizes that my site wants to be ranked on the keyword widget.

My buddy is pretty smart, but I wanted to know what others think.

Right, nofollow backlinks are still calculated as a vote for your sites but should have lower value than dofollow ones. And, there are still a link decay problem on them.

Of course, nofollow backlinks make value for website's promotion, but they aren't relevant to KW promotion. You cannot increase your rankings under KW using nofollow links

nofollow backlinks i think it is useful,google could crawl it and i think it also could get you traffic.

I agree with you. No follow has some value thought is not so much useful as dofollow but someway its useful for traffic.

I agree, in some way it can give us some links right...

no follow is used for content that a webmaster does not want a user to view via a search engine. The no follow attribute on links is used to NOT give link backs

Your buddy is right, and I never think nofollow has no value.
