I need to get a couple thousands links for a startup website to get it started. I know most softwares out there are crap and can get you banned instead of bringing you good backlinks, but I know some of them must be good... which ones do you recommend?
Cheers

Its better if you do it naturally, If you want to use some bots in doing SEO, use fireform in submitting your links in directory, article, or your blog submission. Remember Google can identify you if you're making some miracle![]()
Backlink softwares won't do u any good, no one can make sure what kind of links it has build for u.
Btw, whether it can work is still hang in doubt!
I thought some software, such as the spammy ones, would even do harm to your sites instead of helping its SEO. You might face the danger of being treated as black hat marketer.
A hundred quality backlinks is better than a thousand crap ones. Doing this naturally can easily boost rankings because the links are relevant enough.

Build it naturally as doing mass directory submission doesn't work as most sites are abandoned!
Using software doesn't guarantee anything.. doing it manually is still preferred by doing some directory submission, forum posting, blog commenting, blog posting, article submission, press release submission, social bookmarking..
I'd never use link building software, google looks down upon such practices.
