    Default Paypal dispute/claim?

I just filed a claim through Paypal for a seller who sent me an item that didn't work and told me to return it. I returned it and she will not give me a refund. So I filed the claim.
How long does it usually take Paypal to take action? What will they generally do? I paid through Paypal w/ my credit card...will the credit card company be able to do anything? Thanks!

Paypal will get to work on it right away, although they are leniant at first, and give the person you are in dispute with 10 days to answer the initial email. Eventually Paypal will make a decision, and if you have emails that you shared with the seller it would be good to send those to paypal, you may also want to file a chargeback with your credit card company, it may be faster.

I hope you have proof of postage for returning the item, and sent it in a way that required a receipt.

I filed a dispute with PayPal because i received a faulty item and they told me if i sent the item back to the seller then he would issue a refund.
So i sent the item back, and heard nothing from him.
I gave it a few days and asked him if he had received it, saying i was a little concerned because it should be there by now.
"No, there has been no sign of it!" he said.
Luckily i had opted for recorded delivery, the signature strip is scanned into a computer after delivery and uploaded to the tracking website.
I had proof he was lying about lack of receipt, as his initials were right there, i provided the link to PayPal and the matter was then resolved.
(This whole process took about 3 months, including my case being closed once because i "Failed to provide documents in time" (i had sent the documents, i had received confirmation they had received them but they had got lost in a different department.

PayPal are a joke in terms of resolving matters, their support is terrible from my experience. I hope you do have proof that they recieved the item or the seller may attempt to take you for a ride.

I suggest you file a charge back with your credit card company, tell PayPal they can resolve the issue if they want their money back and leave it at that.

This might take a while, like a couple of months, if you have the same luck as I used to have, if the decision is in your favor...
    Good luck.

It can take PayPal up to 30 days to review a claim.
PayPal, however, usually doesn't side with either party...instead they give both parties an excuse saying the opposite party won the claim, and then PayPal pockets the money.

I don't know how they get away with this but it has been proven.

Wow. I've heard many wild stories but I've never heard about this before.
I've never liked Paypal anyway, so I never have a lot in my account.
This should be a rule for anyone using e-currency: Never leave much in your account.

if you have a good reputation and a documented communication paypal should take around 5 days to take care of your issues. Just be patient you will more than likely get your money.

Paypal will take action right away if they can be in legal trouble other than that it will take 2-3 Weeks.

I have just won a dispute through PayPal, they refunded £1.74.
The faulty new goods I returned to a None responding seller cost me £52.98. PayPal say Dispute Closed.
So how is this supposed to work. I thought PayPay protection was there to support buyers who received faulty good.
