What is Google going to do in 2008?

I think that Google will work in 2008 to bring more of the traditional desktop applications to become web-based. The may release a service allowing people to backup parts of their computer to a 'Google drive', and the integrate that with Google Docs. One thing that I would find interesting would be a phone-based Google maps. With their voice recognition from 1-800-GOOG-411, they could have users tell their current location and where they are trying to go to, and receive directions they can write down. I don't know how many more services Google is going to release in 2008, but I do think that Google is going to press to keep from losing any more marketshare from other search engines (I've heard live.com is growing a lot recently).

in addition to what Jeff said they would join the wireless service bandwagon and also get their GPhone's They are already working on their open source mobile platform Google Android and somethig vey similar to wikipedia called Gpedia codenamed Knol

Wasn't Google bidding on part of the wireless spectrum this year? Did they end up getting it?

the bidding is over but they still have wait the auction for the wireless spectrum is due in January.

So they announced that they are going to enter in the auction, but the auction has not happened yet?

96 applicants have been approved, while 170 companies including AT&T, Verizon and MetroPCS were marked as having incomplete applications for undisclosed reasons by the Federal Communications Commission. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended from Dec. 28 to Jan. 4. And the auction might happen somewhere later in January.
