The Previous Google News Homepage Versions

I know that you have heard the issue about the new homepage of the Google News. It seems that they are going back to the previous designs. This is due to the fact that a lot of users reacted to the whole matter and that they did not like the new one. What happened there? What are the things that got a lot of these users to give those negative feedbacks? I know that the Google News homepage is quit6e good but I would go with the decision of the majority of the users. Can anyone give me an idea of what pissed off the users?
