PR relate to update frequency?

Does the PR relate to the number of times a page is updated within a time period?

I heard freshbot goes to sites more frequently that have higher PR

i also heard that freshbot goes to sites that are known to be updated more frequently, so it can grab the latest info.

any studies on this? or just feelings?

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm, that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references.
