Question Google to kill click-tracking scripts

Recently google made some changes to their code due to which many click trackers like adlogger, are not working properly.

Something what many webmaster's have noticed,
The status bar no longer displays 'go to website.com' when hovering over the ads.

It is suspected that this might have been a deliberate change on behalf of Google to kill click-tracking scripts.

well it is in googles TOS, i believe that you are not supposed to modify their code in any way, and i think a lot of click tracking scripts might do that? (correct me if I am wrong).

I am not sure exactly what you are talking about with the hover type thing, and "go to website".

And also, about click tracking, google doesn't want to have to deal with discrepancies....they are going to toss out clicks that they feel are invalid, which you are probably bound to get at least at some time, and so your numbers won't add up to theirs anyhow....

i guess google just doesn't like publishers using 3rd party software to track the clicks and stuff thats why then came up with this. About the invalid clicks google takes care of it and returns the money if it found that the click was invalid.

@ brian, I don't think tracking scripts tamper with google scripts anyway..

tracking scripts just wrap the ad code so that they don't tamper the ad code
