PR is important!
Whoever says that website can gain high PR quicker than blogs in not well informed SEO stuff. There's no difference between calculating page rank between blogs and sites. Google calculates page rank on a base of quality and quantity of iincoming links of website. A blog can reach to high PR than website if he has more number of quality links. Simiularly a website can reach high PR quicker than blog if it has got more number of quality incoming links. It's all about the number of incoming link that you have that adffects PR. It doesn't matter weather it's a website or a blog.
PR is not important anymore, it is only a way to give yourself a price for link sales on your sites/blogs.
Some might argue that blogs killed PageRank. But the fact is, the online world goes through pretty impressive changes every few years. And, believe it or not, PageRank is old. In Internet time, PageRank may have been well into middle age.
Its death hasn't been announced yet, but the time is near. The signs have been around for quite a while.
You see, PageRank was a brilliant yet simple idea at the time: use the structure of the web itself to determine what is and is not popular. But that's behind us. Google is no longer concerned solely with what's popular. Like most companies, they also care a lot about what sells or what advertisers want. Many speculate that Google is responding to various pressures to keep blogs from tainting their results. Perhaps.
There is no such reason. The only reason is that usually we work for websites, to increase their visibility in search engines. In compare to a website, very less work is done on blogs. But some blogs like business or corporate blogs, technology blogs get high PR. The reason behind this is, the regular updating of content on those blogs. If you update a blog daily and also get some quality back links for the blog, you can get a high PR for the same.
The algorithm for counting Page Rank for website and blog are the same. There is no difference. PR depends on the content and quality backlinks.
Google loves to crawl over new stuff I was told. I think you should keep updating the blogs and the elements of your site.
