Can something be deleted off of Google search??

I noticed a family members name on a Google search, his birthday listed in a church bulletin. It was on the Google search for 2 days, now it is gone. The date was Jan 2008, so very recent. Can he delete this by contacting Google? Thanks!

if you are worried about it then it needs to be deleted off of that website, but even then google does not update its search cache Immediately, and even then there will be records of it in googles search history or w/e its called over there for a while

No. It's a web page which is searched by a search engine. Google has "crawlers" which index pages.

You can disallow a particular page using robots.txt on your site,
and then using google webmaster tools, you can request exclusion of that page.

yeah Robots.txt is the essence, disable that and ur set.

he wants to remove his info from the web for that he would need to fill up the form for removal of the info from search engines.
