    Thanks,
Yes, it will be helpful because people will actually land on your site instead of giving up and abandoning the search. I hate clicking on a search result and the site never loads! Ywa Google!

Google included speed of website to its PR algorithm and now webmasters also keep focus on this point to get better ranking.

However this all plays out it appears to be a very good thing for the over all search experience. I like that everyone wins here.

    Hi Guys,

As i have seen Matt Cutts saying in one of his videos that

"People should not stress so much on site speed and the reason is that we are always going to first give importance to the quality and freshness of a page like how good is the page for users, how much helpful information users can find on your page and if there are two pages roughly same quality front end page, then Google will check the speed of both the pages otherewise, it doesn't have too much of impact on your ranking. So speed doesn't have a major impact on your site ranking."

So don't be panic for your website speed, and try to keep your page content fresher and fresher and don't ever try to stuff keywords in it. Keep writing for your target users not for search engines and I can bet on, you will achieve better ranking for your target keywords.

    Cheers,

As an SEO provider I understand that at this time this new change will have little impact in the SERP's. But since my job is to find every possible advantage possible I will be studying up on this change. It will only make things better in the long run. It also gives us something different to talk about.

while site speed is a new signal, it doesn't weigh as much as relevance.

Default Google Gives More Importance to Page Speed

In a post, Google has made it clear that page will come to play a pivotal role in ranking of a website. Therefore, a jolt a sure to waiting for you round the corner. Better to make your website load faster or be ready to bear the brunt.

Great response. That's how I feel about this situation. Google isn't in a habit of announcing changes to its algorithm. So the smart site owner should pay attention to this.
