Facebook Buys Instagram for $1 Billion

Facebook on Monday announced a billion-dollar-deal to buy the startup behind wildly popular smartphone photo sharing application Instagram.

Not bad for an app that has only a dozen staff and no income stream.

What do you guys think? Is it really worth $1 Billion?

wow! that's a hell of a lot of money

They have like 13 employees, less than 2 years old company without any revenue stream. Wonder how much each employee will take away!

That's a lot of money! btw, the founder holds 40% shares of the company. So you can calculate what his cut gonna be.

I think that was a good move for Facebook.

They'd have never dreamt of such a big amount... Everybody will take away big slice of income.

That is really a huge money but still they can bring back that money.

Facebook is not a new thing and if it has decided to buy Instagram then I think it must be worth it. I don't think the no. of staff has any role to play in the performance of the company, its the quality of work done. So if those dozen employees are putting in quality work then I don't think its questionable.

Spending lot of money on it then there should be big and great benefit in it.

Yes is worth 1 billion,Facebook is really doing a lot of thing that his/her audience will surely like and it is very effective that they buy the application.
