One of the basic conditions after registering a business item is to obtain Government License / Permits. In situation, you are into food business e.g itinerant vendor, hawker, temporary stallholder; food publisher in any ethical or group gathering events except a caterer, or by any way compared to production, shipping, storage or distribution of food product or tiny food business, one must obtain an FSSAI Registration or FSSAI License before starting operations.

It is compulsory by the FSSAI department for every large food business director in India to get a FSSAI Central license to drive their business in India. There are many reasons for the FSSAI Licence Registration:

  • FSSAI controls for the food license of FBO on a casual basis and demands stringent actions over those businesses whose licenses have died or businesses that donít have an FSSAI license.
  • There is a large level of customer belief in the safety and variety of food so it has been more necessary to maintain that trust of the public. So licensing is an essential factor, to hold that trust.
  • It supports to further change in food products- modifications are always welcome. To hold the trust of user FBO must print a 14-digit FSSAI License number on their food packages.
  • Central Licencing increases trade without hazarding customer protection and a bigger share.
  • Central FSSAI Licence confirms the food products to sustain quality checks by decreasing the food corruption and sale of sub-standard products.

∑ FBOs like retailers, restaurants, publishers, and suppliers with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 20 crore.
∑ Production and processing layers of vegetable oil by the process of solvent extraction and industries including oil expeller unit, with a range of over 2 metric tonnes per day.
∑ The club, Dhaba, canteen, and other food vending businesses with offices spread in more than one state and an annual turnover of more than Rs. 12 lakh.
∑ Wholesalers that produce an annual turnover of not fewer than Rs. 30 crores.
∑ Hotels with grade 5-star or more numerous.
∑ 100 % trading located units included in food production or processing.
∑ All Merchant including the import of food ingredients or additives.
∑ Caterers serving under Central Government or relevant companies such as Airlines, Railways, airports, Seaport, Defence, etc.
∑ Storages with a range of more than 50,000 metric tonnes,
∑ Dairy Systems (including chilling units), with a range to manage or rule, over 50,000 liters per day,
A slaughtering capability of over 50 big animals or more than 150 little animals or more than 1000 chicken birds per day.
