Try to be keyword specific and make sure the domain is not banned from Google!

Yes, they are. only when :
    # they are not penalized by Google.
    # if the domain has already some old back links .

hey, there, I think one benefit of buying old or expired domains is to help with release the effect of sandbox!

The sandbox effect is more serious for new sites on new domains, so if you buy old or expired domains and launch your new site there, you'll experience less problems.

Old domain are more expensive than a new domain. But they are rank well in search engine, i think domain age is an important in Google algorithm.

YES, it is a really good thing to get a very old domain that has been expired. Last year I bought a domain name that had been expired for 4 - 5 years. But it had backlinks that were 10 - 11 years old.

When I set the site up, google indexed all of the articles within just a few hours. I used an old wordpress database to give the site about 45 articles. Google indexed all of the articles in about 4 hours.

From there the site has moved to page 1 and page 2 of google and has never missed a lick. Its like the site was never off line.
