Yesm, old domains are very good because domain age is a ranking factor but please check if the domain wasn't banned by the major search engines or was not hosting illegal content.

the advantages of old domain names is that it might already have some old backlinks and been indexed by search engines already. But make sure it's not banned from google.

Using old domain/expired domain is use full but you be check that the domain never banned by Google. if the domain have some rank in Google that is more beneficial for you. and if the domain name is related to your business its great.

Yes, you can select for the old or expired domain. There is no any difference between the new domain names and the old domain names. First, you need to check whether the domain names are available for registration or not. You can check it by doing Whois search for it. If they are available for registration, then you can register them with any hosting company.

The most important think to be considered while choosing the domain is that the domain name is relevant to the contain of site. And if possible should contain the keyword.
