i haven't purchased any yet except for some free blogspot domains.

Around 30 right now.

Three.
I've given serious consideration to registering the most common ".X" alternatives to my primary website (e.g., .NET, .ORG), but haven't thought it worth the extra cost.
I know it's pretty cheap to do that these days but it would be just one more thing to remember to keep registered and configured.

I like .com's mostly. I have one .org and one .net. The .org isn't really in use anymore but the .net will be used as a corporate website. Most of the domains are forums.

I have about 3, all of them have the .net extension. 2 are Webmaster communities and 1 of them is a software download site.

Got about 10 at the moment and would be investing on some more in the coming months.
