    Knowing your target audience is crucial for the success of any business. Take some time, do a bit of research, follow these tips and you will see a dramatic difference in your success at reaching those people you are looking for.

    1. Know Who Your Target Audience Is

    That sounds simple enough, but is it really?

    If you say you want to reach people who are looking for a home based business, or want additional income, that is way too broad. You must narrow it down and answer these questions - how old are they, where do they work, are they married or single, are they dual-income, do they have kids, how many, how old, etc.

    2. What Do They Struggle With?

    What are their stresses, frustrations and possible physical manifestations from that stress. What keeps them awake at night? What are their pains, likes and desires? Fear, pain and stress can motivate us to change what we are doing.

    3. What Are They Searching For Online?

    What keywords are they putting in search engines? In order to know your audience, you have to know that kind of stuff. Most people realize their target audience is much like them. So ask yourself, what do you search for and where do you go when you are online?

    4. WHERE Are They Searching For Online Solutions?

    What websites are they visiting? If your target audience is similar to yourself, what keywords would you type in for answers to a problem?

    5. Can You Relate To Their Struggles?

    This is an absolutely key question to answer. If you know what people are struggling with, then you can identify with them. People are more likely to join others if they can identify and relate to the same thoughts, struggles and pains.

    Don't feel like you already have to be successful for people to follow you. Many want to know they can walk through something with you instead of learning how you came out on the other side.

    6. What Will It Take To Get Their Attention And Keep It?

    Our attention span is much shorter than it used to be. So think about what advertisements grab your attention and make you want to click? Look at yourself and the path you followed to bring you where you are today.

    7. If You Were Them, What Would You Need To Hear?

    They want to know something about you they can gravitate to. Something they can grab hold of and work with you as you bring success to the table. Don't ever sell yourself short. You have something to bring to the table.

    8. Be Yourself

    This is a big one. You are unique and that is what people are looking for. They aren't looking for a cookie cutter to follow.

    9. Always Take Time To Help Others

    It's not about you - it's about them. If you ever get to the point where you don't have time to help people, you have missed it. This is what you are called to do as a leader. Your followers will stay with you for a long time when you follow this simple principle.

    The more specific you become when it comes to narrowing down your target audience, the greater your results will be.
