    Default Maths shorcuts

    If there's a question like:

    if xa + yb + zc = 1
    then value
    of
    x+y+z/xa + x+y+z/yb + x+y+z/zc will be equal to ?

    For this we simply put x = y = z = 1 and we get the answer as 3

    xa + yb + zc = 1 : this would be 1a+ 1b+ 1c = 1
How can you compute this if you don't have equivalents for variables a,b & c??

How it become equal to 1??
what will be the value of a,b & c?? 1 Also??

You know what, you’re right. It is impossible to get an answer of 3 using his explanation, unless all of the variables will be equal to 1.

I have been staring at this like a 1st grader in a college class. It doesn't make any sense. x = y = z = 1 means everything is equal to one, but it's also somehow equal to three? Is this the new math I've been hearing so much about?

To quickly multiply by four, double the number and then double it again.
Often this can be done in your head.
