Has anyone turned off comments on their blog?
I'm thinking about turning off comments on my blogs. I'm sick of dealing with all the comment spam. I'm no prude but even reading the names of some of the links people are spamming me with is disgusting.
One problem is I'd really like to have some back and forth with my visitors, but not many of them bother to comment.
Has anyone turned off their comments? Did you have any sort of reaction from your visitors?

Yeah its really an irritating situation and disgusting too when I see a lots of people just place their link in their comments section instead of where it should.I just read some of comments and publish the comments that are related to my discussion and delete all others.

Ya,today lot of people turn off the comments.
But if you will turn off the comment.,traffic will be less to your website.

Necessary to completely turn off the message. . Because a lot of spam will share the weight of your blog so your blog link on the lower weight. So you do reduce the role of the blog. . So I suggest you close the message or messages through your audit

Yes I did because I was getting lots of spam messages.

I hate comment spam so much, if I see the spam, I will turn off it .

mine is turned off. there are many spam comments made by bots.

I think it's a bad move. Blog comments add content and freshness to a page.
You want to know who the best interactive agency is? In my opinion, that would be Ten Fast Feet--one to watch for sure--especially if you're looing for media buyers.
