I don't consider twiter or facebook good to promote anything
Maybe something free ...
I'm sure you can use both to make some money. When I first started, I used MySpace to make over a $100,000 - but those days are over as it is much harder now to make money on social networks as they are really cracking down.
But I'm sure that you can still use social networks like facebook and twitter to make money. it's just going to take more time and work, and you will probably make less money than you would have years ago.
Twitter is a free social networking platform that where users post 140 character messages known as tweets. There is a lot of garbage out there on Twitter, but smart internet marketers know how to use the proper etiquette and clever strategies to make their tweets count. Learn how to use Twitter effectively to promote affiliate products.
facebook ads are like ppc of google adword.. you have to pay for every click
Good idea to use social media to promote offers but it is getting crowded.
Melovemoney was right his post that the glory days are mostly gone. That said I make a few hundred bucks per month with facebook and twitter. I don't do it much anymore cuz people find it spammy. You are better off to focus on building YOU as a brand on there and make the $$$ on the backend. Give VALUE First
Cheers,
Kevin
Yes, Facebook use as now and Twitter have just this week come out with some kind of promoted Tweet feature to monetise Twitter for them. You can simply use their feature to advertise to their users.
Thanks

I haven't tried either Twitter or Facebook. (To tell you the truth, I don't really know how to handle anything as tiny as 140 characters.)
I'd be interested in others' experience.
This are real avenues to advertise your product. I actually use face book a lot
