Promoting affiliate products on Twitter and Facebook?

It depends. Twitter is best for keeping the masses "up to date" with developments. I doubt Facebook could really help for majority. Facebook is best for entertainment industry or miscellaneous activities. Not good for any plumbing engineer etc. I'd rather play games and enjoy chatting through it then, seriously buying anything.

But Facebook PPC has a different story (fingers xrossed)

I think facebook is better for Business activities.

I've found twitter to be quite good at sending traffic to a blog if you've collected niche specific followers.

I haven't had great success in direct linking to a sales offer unless it was free.

i tried it and it never worked for me......i dont think it`s the right place to do this kind of things

The same thing is also applicable while promoting affiliate products. None of your follower would care what you promote if you are not on niche (i.e. didn't promote product which is related to your general discussion).

For example, peoples follow me at twitter because I discuss about blogging tips, affiliate marketing and make money online topic. In this follower base if I promote a product that deals with 'How to loose weight' would it make me a single dime? I don't think. Rather I should promote product that is related to blogging tips, affiliate marketing and make money online topic.

yeah sometimes tried but it is not very effective..

I had no luck with promoting on facebook, it was like placing ads on other sites. People just click the ad and don't buy so you waste your money on people's curiosity and no intent to buy.

face book is about to celebrate its land mark of 500 million users.if these social media used properly,they can be ver effective.
