It is an extra ordinary medium for reaching the guys directly so it will be effective in any way. Try facebook in my opinion but now people are saying google plus with helps in search engine rankings.
Social Marketing is NOT a waste of time. You just have to put the time and effort into it to get something out of it, just like anything else. Social Marketing can be very beneficial if you enable yourself to use it's benefits to your own advantage and work off that to create whatever you want the desired outcome to be such as more income, traffic and what not.
* If the article which you bookmarked is really interesting and is able to create sensation or thrill then you will get lot of traffic.
* If it is a simple web page with some sort of information you will get a simple backlink, if SBM site not uses no follow or noarchieve.
Social Bookmarking is an act of Social Media Optimization, meant to increase branding and social network.
