1. Pick your title first. Article writing comes much more naturally once you've given your piece a name.

2. Decide what type of article you will be writing. There are four types of discursive writing;

-An argument article is meant to convince someone of something.
-An explanation article tells why something is the way that it is.
-A definition article clarifies the meaning of something.
-A description article provides information about the qualities or properties of something.
