Questions about promoting hotels online
I am currently studying how I can promote hotels online. Followings are some of questions I have. Since many of you are probably very familiar with online marketing, I figure that this is a good place to ask.
q1. Roughly what percept of guests book rooms using travel websites like Expedia, Travel City and Orbitz cumulatively?
q2. Which website brings the biggest number of guests?
q3. Do guests find the hotel using Google (or other search engines) or they find the hotel through advertisements that Google displays?
q3.2. If that's the case, what gateway brings the biggest number of guests, travel websites, Google's search results or Google's advertisements?
q4. Given the number of rooms available and their prices, how much budget should the hotel allocate to advertise?
I'd greatly appreciate any input.

I know it's an old thread but I was posting a tip elsewhere and thought I'd add it here to. If you have a decent travel website for a hotel or any travel business large or small, you are very welcome to add a bookmark for it at travelbookmarking.com - there are other similar specialist travel niche sites but this one tends to get fast results for specific bookmarks. For instance your hotel name plus location is likely to get a high ranking very quickly and you may not be able to achieve that with your own site so quickly.
