Importance of Facebook in Online Marketing

I was reading an article yesterday which said Facebook has surpassed Google as the top source of traffic for major portals like Yahoo, MSN, and AOL.

I am not sure how many users facebook has but the number is huge and I see a lot of opportunity to get users visit our websites.

I am looking for suggestions how I can market and promote my website on facebook?

Facebook didn't surpassed Google. It overtakes Yahoo only. Read this blog. You can add your links in face book.

I am not sure if Facebook has surpassed Google in overall traffic but it is definitely yielding more results when it comes to targeted advertising.
We had created a group in Facebook and did some basic promotion for our Dedicated Servers and Managed Hosting and got tons of visitors through those.

I think that Facebook can't surpass Google, at least not in the nearest future. And besides they are a bit different aims.

Facebook is just a goldmine, or maybe a diamond-mine of people from all around the world. This is one place where people gathers and share stuffs. I think marketing inside the facebook is very very crucial and should be handled very carefully.

Yes, it definitely is a goldmine for marketers. I am doing some reading on effective marketing via facebook. Will share some tips soon.
