I believe everyone has tried some or the other methods to promote their sites / products using social media. Be it online or offline. Social media is the best way to build your brand. But you need to be careful how you do it.

I having a job in on line business. It is easy and simple. You just stand by on your computer and offer your product. but a product not always yours, you just as informant and you must have a cooperated with service delivery.

I use videos on youtube, a lot of images on my blog and forum, and here recently I have started posting podcast on my forum for people to download.

Social media can help drive a LOT of traffic to your forum of blog. Google images is my #4 or #5 source of traffic. I get more traffic from google images then I do from yahoo, bing or msn.

It can help and you will learn as well. That's one of the strategy on how to promote your product or web page. Specially if you're starting a small business. Most of them used that approach.
