    The Line Marketing involves brand creation and promotion through robust channels like television, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc. Mass media provides one of the biggest platforms for businesses to advertise their product to a large consumer base in a short time span.

    Above The Line (ATL) advertising is where mass media is used to promote brands and reach out to the target consumers. These include conventional media as we know it, television and radio advertising, print as well as internet.

    Hi...

    Marketing activities (basically advertisements) today can be divided into three segments – Above the Line (ATL), Below the Line (BTL), & Through the Line (TTL) Marketing. The line was originally used to separate marketing activities which had mass penetration (above the line) to those which had specific penetration (below the line).

    What are ATL and BTL activities? They seem simple enough. Above The Line (ATL) advertising is where mass media is used to promote brands and reach out to the target consumers. These include conventional media as we know it, television and radioadvertising, print as well as internet.

    ATL & BTL Agencies refer to two different styles of marketing agencies, especially in promotion marketing and communication. "ATL" stands for "Above The Line", meaning that the advertising is going to be deployed around a wider target audience, e.g. television, radio, or billboards.

    ATL stands for Above the road advertising and it always means advertising within the traditional, direct to the general public , medias, like TV, radio, newspapers and magazines. it's a standard sort of advertising, to the mass public and tiny segmentation (just the choise of the channel and time, for example).

    The opposite is below the road (BTL) new, untraditional sorts of media like marketing mail and email, digital advertising, events, promotions. it's a more “one to one” sort of advertising

But then, because of the increased competition and development in technology, emerged through the line marketing activities which blur the line and include the use of both ATL & BTL advertising activities.

    Every marketing approach that is done on conventional media is ATL. ATL activities are largely based on TVCs. One of the finest examples of ATL are the TVCs/Ads during super-bowl.
